Out of the 919 applicants who queued on the conducted Labor
Day Jobs Fair in SM City Cauayan, a total of 210 applicants were hired on the
spot. The event which celebrated the 113th Labor Day dubbed
“Disenteng Trabaho at Kabuhayan, Alay Natin sa Bayan”, was in partnership with
Department of Labor and Employment
(DOLE), Local Government of Cauayan City and SM City Cauayan.
A total of 46 companies participated including those in the
Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Retail Services and Manufacturing Industry.
New graduates, job seekers were given the chance to explore various employment
opportunities on the said event.
On the other hand, DOLE Region 2 headed by Atty. Sixto
Rodriguez, Jr., Regional Director awarded SM City Cauayan a Certificate of
Compliance on General Labor and Standards for having complied with General
Labor Standards. A Certificate of Compliance on Occupational Safety and Health
Standards is also given to SM City Cauayan for having complied with the
Occupational Safety and Health Standards.
DOLE Regional Director Atty. Rodriguez also pronounced SM
City Cauayan as the “Job Fair of Region 2” during the opening program of the
Job Fair.
SM Supermalls, being home to over 300,000 employees,
continues to make efforts in providing jobs to the growing Filipino workforce. (PR)
